How to choose a short haircut and its color?
Very often a woman with short hair is a woman who assumes herself or who wishes to assume herself, also the choice of the color is as essential as the cut. Indeed, the color will come to establish the femininity. So how to choose the right color for short hair?
As with the haircut, it’s your personality that comes first. Céline even explains that she defines the cut with her client according to her personality before adapting the cut to her physiognomy. She also emphasizes that this cut is defined with the whole person and not only in relation to the face. It is the same for the chosen color: first the personality, then the style and finally the physique. According to her, defining the short haircut and its color according to the personality, is the key to the success of this hairstyle because the woman will assume it fully and will like herself so she will feel good.
The short haircut also has the advantage of being able to wear a more pronounced or even more original or stronger color than on medium or long hair. Moreover, the hair being more recent, it is less altered and thus allows a more radical change. It is therefore an opportunity to be tempted by a platinum blonde, a gray, a pastel pink or peach color with highlights or, on the contrary, to allow yourself darker colors such as burgundy, violet highlights or even a raven black.
When to adopt a uniform and brilliant color?
Do you want a platinum blonde, jet black, intense copper or a deep chocolate brown? In short, a uniform color, in this case, it will have to be brilliant to highlight your cut and underline your personality.
A uniform and bright color is recommended especially for pixie cuts, a very boyish cut for the blow, so the color must be strong to emphasize the femininity. This type of color is also suitable for the undercut as well as the asymmetrical cut, especially if we stay on the very short.
This color is also necessary when you have thick hair. The highlights and other effects give an impression of volume, so when we have thick and short hair, we will prefer a uniform and shiny color that will highlight the natural volume of the hair.
Why choose a color with highlights or effects?
As regards the sweep as much to be clear, it is to banish for the pixie cut, the hair being too short, the sweep gives an effect leopard. As for a short asymmetrical cut, we can allow ourselves a sweep but it will have to be light and melted. It is therefore often preferable to turn to contouring, which consists of having a few highlights around the face, rather than highlights or too pronounced a sweep.
Our hairdressers prefer, in this sense, the effects technique that sets up elegant and subtle highlights. We particularly recommend effects when you have a short cut on fine hair. In fact, in this case, we start with a neutral base at the roots and lighten the lengths and ends by one or two tones maximum. This gives depth and coupled with a short cut adapted to fine hair, you will obtain a volume effect.
Note that with highlights, a whole universe of originality opens up to you: pastel pink, gray, peach for blondes, burgundy, violet, hazelnut or even chocolate for dark colors for example. So will you succumb to a little madness?
