Gorgeous colors for medium-length hair

There’s nothing we love to see more than the hair transformations between seasons, especially when it comes to a brand new shade. While you may spend less time on the go during the winter season, that’s no reason not to upgrade your winter hair color.

If you’re looking for winter hair colors to try in 2023, you’ve come to the right place. From winter hair colors for brunettes to winter blonde inspiration, we’ve rounded up the hottest (we mean coolest) winter shades, and once you see them, winter might just become your favorite season.

Ash Blonde Hair Color Ideas

In addition to these exciting new hair color ideas for 2023, we’ll be wearing fewer strawberry blonde hues and more platinum blonde hues in the new year. And have our balayage and shadow cooled for spring with fabulously chic shades of ash blonde and ash brown!

The main hair color ideas are still centered around warm reds – but it’s going to be platinum ice and cool ashy browns starting in the spring! Not only for long hair, but you can also try these colors on short hair, as well as bob cuts and longer pixie cuts.

Rainbow colored roots!

Models wore bright blue, green, yellow and pink colors on top of their medium length hairstyles at the roots around the center parting and crown. What a fabulous new way to cover your unwanted “root growth” and a bold departure from balayage and ombré hair color ideas. These hair ideas are not only perfect for long hair, but also for short hair.

For this year, the summer rainbow hair trends will definitely embrace this fantastic new hair color idea!

How ?

Here’s how the look was created by Bumble & Bumble’s art director. He used a brush to paint on colors from the MAC Pigment line mixed with water around the roots of the parting area and crown. Then he applied Bumble & Bumble’s Dryspun Texture Spray and finally dried the roots with a hair dryer on very low speed, leaving a powdery matte effect.

I suspect it would be easier to do with any of the temporary rainbow colors in the Crazy Color line, or the Revlon Nutri-Gloss line (for natural colors) to get an equally rad, but not powdery finish!
